Mum dies after being flung from golf cart in horror crash just two months after giving birth

A tragic incident at a private members country club has resulted in the untimely death of a 32-year-old new mum, Mary Beth Blasetti. The fatal accident occurred on Saturday, November 9, when Blasetti was ejected from a golf cart she was a passenger in at the Sherwoods Forest Club in Maryland. Just two months prior to the incident, Blasetti had given birth to her daughter, Mary Katharine. She was airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries and sadly passed away two days later. Blasetti’s family, including her husband Nick and infant daughter, are left devastated by the loss.

The details of the accident suggest that the golf cart hit a bump or abruptly transitioned surfaces, causing Blasetti to fall or be thrown out. The driver of the golf cart, a 32-year-old woman from Crownsville, Maryland, has not been named by the authorities as the investigation is ongoing. According to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Marc Limansky, the incident is still under investigation by the department’s Traffic Safety Section.

Mary Beth Blasetti, an alumna of the University of West Virginia, worked as an account manager for Golden Hippo, a brand marketing company. Colleagues described her as a “superstar” at work and a “lovely and wonderful person.” A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family with funeral expenses, raising nearly $309,717 so far. Friends and family remember Blasetti as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones. The sudden loss of Mary Beth Blasetti has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, highlighting the fragility of life and the importance of treasuring every precious moment shared with family and friends.
