Grit bins are available in communities across North Lanarkshire for residents to use in keeping their paths and streets clear. Furthermore, salt can be found at various locations within communities and Household Waste Recycling Centres. Community resilience packs containing essential items are available for voluntary organisations to use during severe weather events.

During severe weather forecasts, priority roads are treated to ensure safety, with primary paths being addressed before the morning rush hour. The maintenance of trunk roads and motorways falls under the purview of the Scottish Government.
