The average weekly rent of £80.87 provided by North Lanarkshire Council is below the Scottish average of £91.80, making it more affordable for residents. The satisfaction rate among tenants stands at 86.6%, exceeding both national and local authority averages. Emergency repairs are completed in an average of 2.8 hours, quicker than the Scottish average of four hours. Non-emergency repairs are also completed promptly within 6.8 days, compared to the Scottish average of nine days.
Tenant participation is encouraged by the council, with 96.8% of tenants satisfied with the opportunities to participate in decision-making processes. Moreover, 95.9% of anti-social behaviour cases were resolved within agreed local targets, demonstrating the council’s commitment to maintaining a safe and harmonious community. Despite challenges such as contractor shortages and tenant refusals, the average re-let time for homes is 35 days, significantly better than the Scottish average of 56.7 days.
