Perthshire charity’s Christmas gifts transported to war-torn Ukraine

Perthshire Charity Sends Christmas Gifts to Ukraine
A charity based in Perthshire is spreading Christmas cheer to war-torn Ukraine by sending off 800 boxes of gifts this week. The boxes are part of humanitarian aid being transported to Ukraine in the 93rd lorry departure from TASH for Ukraine’s Errol Airfield base since the conflict began in February 2022.
This marks the third winter that the Perthshire charity has organised Christmas gifts for Ukraine. The volunteers have worked tirelessly to put together the gift boxes for both children and adults. Deborah Ovens, the vice chairperson of TASH for Ukraine, commended the volunteers for bringing joy to the recipients in Ukraine, ensuring they feel remembered during another harsh winter.
The 800 Christmas boxes, filled with age and gender-specific gifts such as stationary, hats, gloves, toiletries, games, cuddly toys, books, and sweets, were lovingly prepared by volunteers. The charity received overwhelming support from the community, with local companies and school groups contributing to the cause.
TASH for Ukraine is now focusing on Project Winter to continue providing aid during the severe winter months in Ukraine. They are calling for donations of essential items like food, toiletries, thermal socks, and baby supplies to support those in need.
To contribute to the initiative, people can donate items or find out more information by contacting info@tash4ukraine.org.uk or following TASH for Ukraine on social media platforms. The charity emphasises the importance of ongoing support to make a difference in the lives of those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
In summary, the Perthshire charity’s efforts to send Christmas gifts to Ukraine demonstrate the power of community support and compassion in times of need. By coming together to provide aid and comfort, volunteers have shown that acts of kindness can make a significant impact on the lives of others, especially during challenging circumstances like those faced by the people of Ukraine.
