Picturesque Loch Lomond footbridge dating back to 18th century wins global award

A historic footbridge at Loch Lomond, dating back to the 18th century, has recently won a prestigious global award. The Bracklinn Falls Footbridge, near Callander, was honoured in the Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge category at the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) Awards 2024. This recognition highlights the exceptional design and engineering of the picturesque bridge, located within the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

The original bridge, which dates back to the early 18th century, was officially replaced in February 2023 and now offers stunning views of the Bracklinn Falls.
