Plans for new state-of-the-art Callander primary school approved as town’s ‘community campus’ takes step forward

Plans for a new state-of-the-art primary school in Callander have been given the green light, marking a significant step forward for the town’s ‘community campus’. The new Callander Primary School will be part of the upcoming ‘Callander Community Campus’ which will also house Callander Nursery, McLaren High School, and McLaren Leisure Centre.
The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park planning authority recently approved the application to commence construction on the new primary school. Work is scheduled to start in the new year, with the school being situated alongside the existing educational and leisure facilities to create a comprehensive community campus in Callander. Last year, Stirling Council allocated £23 million for the development of the modern primary school as part of its capital investment programme.
Councillor Danny Gibson, Convener for Children and Young People, expressed gratitude towards the residents who participated in public consultations, emphasising that their input has been instrumental in shaping a high-quality, contemporary school that will cater to the needs of families in the area. The approval from the National Park Planning Authority signals a significant milestone towards the realization of the new primary school.
This development is set to not only enhance educational facilities but also strengthen the sense of community in Callander through the integration of various educational and recreational amenities. With construction poised to begin soon, the anticipation amongst Callander residents is palpable as they eagerly await the commencement of this transformative project that will benefit the entire community.
