Plans lodged to build nearly 300 brand new homes on outskirts of Dumfries

Plans have been submitted to construct nearly 300 new homes on the outskirts of Dumfries. Wheatley Homes South, a social housing landlord, is moving forward with their proposal to develop Catherinefield Farm at Heathhall after hosting various public events. This initiative follows Wheatley’s completion of 89 affordable homes in a £22.9 million project at the former Curries Yard depot nearby.

According to the documents filed with the council, the upcoming development is set to include 296 houses. Among them, 234 homes will be designated as affordable housing, including 30 mid-market rent properties, along with 30 private houses. Additionally, there will be 32 homes tailored for individuals over the age of 55 as part of the Livingwell development, marking Wheatley’s first venture in the south of Scotland in this regard.
