Rutherglen school’s biggest ever Christmas fayre will be filled with festive cheer


Burnside Primary School in Rutherglen is gearing up for its biggest Christmas fayre yet, set to bring festive joy to local families and businesses. The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 23, will feature a host of activities, stalls, games, and delicious homemade treats, with a special appearance by Santa Claus himself guaranteed.

The Christmas fayre serves as the primary fundraiser for the school’s parent council and garners substantial support from local enterprises. This year, top prizes for the raffle have been generously donated by establishments like The Performance Academy, Rutherglen Lawn Tennis Club, and Luciano’s restaurant. The new headteacher of Burnside Primary, Gayle McDonald, is eagerly anticipating her first Christmas fayre at the school and is looking forward to transforming the premises into a winter wonderland.

Funds collected during the event will contribute towards the parent council’s initiatives, benefiting students with additional educational opportunities such as school trips, library resources, and extracurricular clubs like the gardening club with Grow 73.
