Scots contestant exits The Chase empty handed as fans slam ‘boring’ episode

A Scottish contestant left The Chase empty-handed, sparking criticism from viewers who labelled the episode as ‘boring’. The episode, aired on ITV, featured Donald from Edinburgh, along with Fran from London, Lynsey from Truro, and Josh from Mill Hill. The four participants aimed to outsmart the Chaser and win a cash prize, but unfortunately, Donald was caught by the quizmaster, leading to the entire team walking away with no winnings.

As the team faced off against Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess, only Fran and Lynsey made it back for the final chase, managing to accumulate a total of £7,000. However, Josh’s risky decision during the cash builder round, where he earned £5,000 but opted to play for the lower offer of minus £1,000 in a head-to-head with Anne, led to further disappointment for the team.

Viewers took to social media to express their frustration over the contestants consistently choosing the lower offer, with some calling for a ban on this option by the show’s producers. Criticisms included comments like “It’s just getting boring now” and “this consistent lower offer taking is absolutely disgusting, embarrassing and shameful.”

The episode’s outcome has ignited a debate among fans of the show, with many highlighting the need for a change in the format to keep the programme exciting and engaging for viewers. As the discussion continues online, the future direction of The Chase remains a topic of interest for its dedicated fan base.
