Spare a pound this Christmas to feed struggling West Lothian families

West Lothian residents are being encouraged to contribute just £1 this festive season to help provide a delicious Christmas meal for struggling families in the area. The initiative, spearheaded by West Lothian women Deborah Gemmell and Lorna Brown through their ‘Greater Good’ campaign, aims to support families in need.
Deborah highlighted that it typically costs around £70 to £80 to feed one family during Christmas. By rallying the community to each donate £1, they could potentially provide meals for up to 37 families. She emphasised the impact even a small donation could have when individuals come together for a common cause.
The campaign is not only accepting monetary donations but is also reaching out to local businesses for support. Businesses can contribute cash donations, products, vouchers, or hold fundraising events to help raise funds for the cause. In return, the campaign will provide advertising for the businesses on social media platforms to increase their visibility.
To contribute to the cause, donations can be made through the JustGiving page set up by Lorna Brown. The initiative aims to make a significant difference in the lives of struggling families in West Lothian during the holiday season.
This heartwarming campaign demonstrates the power of community spirit and collective action in making a positive impact on those in need, especially during the holiday season. It serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting each other and spreading kindness, particularly during times of hardship. By coming together and working towards a common goal, individuals can make a significant difference in the lives of others and create a sense of unity within the community.
