In a heartwarming gesture, The Centre in Livingston has honoured an exceptional volunteer, Julian Korcipa, for his dedication and service at The Vennie in Knightsridge. Julian was bestowed with a volunteer award and a £100 gift card in appreciation of his significant contributions towards supporting young people at the community organisation.

The award, which aims to acknowledge the selfless efforts of individuals in West Lothian who generously give their time to assist others, has been a longstanding tradition. Recipients receive a personalised framed certificate along with the monetary gift as a token of gratitude. Nominated by the sports coach at The Vennie, Jen McCusker, Julian was commended for his unwavering commitment and leadership within the youth club.

At The Vennie, a hub offering educational and social opportunities for children aged five to 18, Julian plays a vital role in organising free bike hire services and spearheading the youth garden enterprise. Through his mentorship and teachings, Julian imparts valuable skills to the young participants, such as bike repair, fostering a sense of responsibility and accomplishment among them.

Expressing his surprise and gratitude upon receiving the Volunteer Award, Julian reflected on the fulfilling experiences he has had at The Vennie. From overseeing bike rentals to coaching the under-12s football team, Julian has actively engaged in various projects that benefit the youth community. Moreover, his involvement with HopScotch Children’s Charity has provided him with the chance to contribute to creating memorable experiences for children in need of respite.
