Aleksandr Benga, a 16-year-old, was last seen in Stornoway on Monday morning around 8.45am near the water wheel in the grounds of Lews Castle. Police Scotland have released two new photographs of Aleksandr in hopes of locating him. He is described as 6ft 2ins tall with short brown hair, slim build, and was last seen wearing black jeans and a beige jumper, possibly with a yellow beanie hat and red jacket.

Special search officers from Aberdeen and Inverness have been deployed to aid in the search efforts, alongside support from partner agencies. Residents of Stornoway have been urged to check their outbuildings and sheds for any sign of Aleksandr, especially with ongoing yellow weather warnings in place. Inspector Hall emphasised the importance of reviewing any private CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage that may have captured Aleksandr passing by. Concerns for his safety continue to grow, and anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 0803 of 18 November, 2024.

As the search continues, weather conditions remain a concern, with yellow weather warnings for Stornoway predicting high winds that could pose risks to property and life. The community is encouraged to stay vigilant and report any sightings or information that could aid in finding Aleksandr Benga.
