Staff at Shotts care home thanked by family for fantastic care to late mum and gran

Staff at a Shotts care home have been praised by a Newmains family for their exceptional care towards a beloved mother and grandmother in her final months. Colleagues at Rosehall Care Home were nominated for their dedication by Catherine Allen and Yvonne Brodie, who appreciated the loving care provided to Catherine’s mum, Sadie Allen, who moved into Rosehall in December last year.

Yvonne expressed her gratitude, saying, “She had been in hospital, and although she was coming out, she was still very poorly. However, you could tell even in the first 24 hours she was already improving. All the staff were so good with her; they were absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to help my gran.”

Upon hearing about the exceptional care provided by the Rosehall staff, a beautiful bouquet of flowers was presented to them. Sadie passed away at the age of 82 last month, surrounded by her family. Yvonne shared, “The staff made sure that we were all there and were there to make her as comfortable as possible. She was pain-free, and the staff gave us lots of time with her before she passed away.”

Describing her late grandmother, Yvonne highlighted Sadie’s family-oriented nature, hard work, and dedication to her community. She reminisced about Sadie’s thriving drapers and wool shop in Harthill, where she was known by many. Sadie’s legacy of going above and beyond for her family and community members lives on.

Such heartwarming stories of dedicated care in times of need remind us of the profound impact that compassionate healthcare professionals can have on individuals and their families during difficult times. Let’s recognise and appreciate the invaluable work of all caregivers who provide comfort, support, and love to those in their care, making a difference in people’s lives every day.
