Still time to you to help hard-up families across Wishaw area this Christmas

There is still time to support hard-up families in the Wishaw area this Christmas. Pathway Church in Wishaw has been running an annual community Christmas Toy Drive in partnership with MADE4U IN ML2 since 2021, aiming to provide toys to children in need. This year, with the cost of living crisis deepening, they hope to assist even more families by collecting toys for the holiday season. In addition, the church has set up a Sparkle and Shine shop offering preloved Christmas jumpers, party outfits, and PJs for children up to 14 years old.
The response to the initiative has been overwhelming, with over 100 families already benefiting from the Sparkle and Shine shop. Gillian Davie, a volunteer at the church, expressed gratitude for the support received from the public, local businesses, and community groups. Asda in Newmains has set up a collection trolley for donations, further showcasing the community’s generosity.
To contribute to the toy drive, donations can be made at two drop-off locations: the Pathway Church Hub on King Street or the MADE4U premises on Greenfield Drive. Alternatively, donors can reach out to Hazel or Gillian via email at Community@pathwaychurch.uk or through Facebook by searching for Pathway Church Wishaw. The deadline for donations is Friday, November 29.
This annual toy drive serves as a heartwarming example of communities coming together to support those in need during the festive season. By donating toys and spreading kindness, individuals can make a significant difference in the lives of hard-up families in Wishaw this Christmas. Your generosity can bring joy and hope to children who may otherwise go without gifts during the holidays. In this season of giving, let’s unite to make a positive impact on our community.
