Aaron Fallon, a Stirling hairdresser, is celebrating his success after clinching the top UK newcomer prize at the Great Barber Bash competition in Birmingham. Aaron, originally from Sligo, Ireland, moved to Stirling nine years ago and transitioned from working in construction to pursuing a career in barbering. The 29-year-old took a bold leap by enrolling in a barbering course in Glasgow, a decision that has now paid off with his recent accolade on November 3 at the national competition.

Competing for the ‘New Blood’ award amongst ten nominees with up to three years of experience in the industry, Aaron and his colleague, Erin Wick, both from Black Lotus Barbers in Stirling’s Upper Craigs, showcased their talent at the event. Aaron emerged victorious, while Erin secured the third position, adding to the pride of the shop’s owner, Amy Fyfe. Aaron shared his journey of overcoming challenges, including financial pressures while supporting his partner, Laura, and their young son, Jaxen.
