The Stirling community has shown immense support for Falkirk mum-of-three Dana Gardiner, who is battling two debilitating conditions. A fundraiser set up to send Dana to Arkansas, America for treatment has raised nearly £35,000 in just a few days.

Dana Gardiner, known as Dana to her loved ones, is facing challenges with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). These conditions have left her unable to work or carry out everyday tasks as she seeks answers and treatment options.

With no effective treatment available on the NHS, Dana’s colleagues at Cold Beer Company pub in Stirling initiated the fundraiser to send her to a clinic in Arkansas. The community’s generosity has seen donations pouring in on the JustGiving page, bringing the total raised to £34,365.

Dana, who manages the pub, expressed her gratitude towards everyone who has contributed to the cause. She shared her appreciation for the outpouring of love and support, acknowledging the unexpected public attention and expressing hope for the treatment ahead.

Nicola McGuinness, Dana’s colleague and friend, highlighted the profound impact of Dana’s conditions on her daily life and the hope placed in the specialised clinic in the US. The goal is to raise £75,000 for Dana’s treatment, with over £34,000 already raised, including a generous £10,000 donation.

The fundraiser not only showcases the power of community support but also highlights the challenges faced by individuals battling complex health conditions. Dana’s journey to recovery serves as a reminder of resilience, hope, and the importance of coming together in times of need.
