Stirling hosts double tribute to tragic Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison with sell-out gigs

Stirling will be hosting a double tribute for the late Frightened Rabbit singer, Scott Hutchison, with two sell-out gigs at the iconic Tolbooth venue. The indie rock group and their frontman will be honoured at the shows on December 6 and 7, named ‘Sing The Greys’, in collaboration with Tiny Changes – a charity established in memory of Scott. The charity aims to invest £1 million in youth mental health in Scotland by 2026.

The event, which quickly sold out after tickets were released, will feature a house band led by Joe Rattray from Admiral Fallow, and will be hosted by former Radio 1 DJ, Ally McCrae. Various musicians, influenced by Scott, will perform favourite Frightened Rabbit tracks, including Kathryn Joseph, Ross Leighton, Tommy Reilly, James Yorkston, Karine Polwart, and emerging artists like Raveloe and Djanna Gabrielle.

David Weaver, Cultural Venues Programmer at Stirling Council, expressed excitement about the event being a celebration of Frightened Rabbit’s music and legacy. Tara McLoughlin, Artistic Director at the Council, highlighted the sense of community and togetherness inspired by Frightened Rabbit’s work, aligning with Tolbooth’s vision.

Kara Olayinka, CEO of Tiny Changes, expressed gratitude for the support and awareness raised by the event, benefiting both the charity and Action in Mind. The collaboration aims to showcase the impact of Frightened Rabbit’s music and Scott’s legacy on mental health advocacy in young people.

The sold-out tribute concerts in Stirling exemplify the lasting impact of Frightened Rabbit and Scott Hutchison’s music on fans and musicians alike. It is heartening to see such a strong response from the community and artists coming together to honour Scott’s memory and support a vital cause in youth mental health.
