In an exciting announcement, Strathaven Park has once again been crowned the best park in Scotland for the tenth year in a row. This beautiful park stood out as the only Scottish park to secure a spot in the top 10 in the public vote conducted as part of the Green Flag People’s Choice Awards.

The annual Best of the Best Green Flag Award Ceremony held on November 14 revealed Strathaven Park’s remarkable achievement. Out of 2,227 parks and open spaces in the UK that received Green Flag Awards, the consistent support and recognition from the community have placed Strathaven Park among the top contenders each year.

Representing a true connection between the community and the park, Strathaven Park has also been the proud recipient of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s prestigious Green Flag Award for an impressive 12 consecutive years. This recognition highlights the ongoing commitment of park managers and communities to uphold high environmental standards and provide exceptional green spaces for the public to enjoy.

Activities such as boating and a miniature railway in the summer make Strathaven Park a popular attraction in town, drawing visitors of all ages to experience the beauty and tranquillity it offers. Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Jamie Ormiston commended the park’s well-deserved recognition, emphasising the importance of green spaces for mental and physical wellbeing.
