**Teenager tragically loses life after taxi collision in Rutherglen**

In Rutherglen, a tragic incident occurred where a teenage boy lost his life after being hit by a taxi on Main Street. The incident involving a black Mercedes Vito taxi and a male pedestrian took place at around 4.10pm on Tuesday, 5th November. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the 16-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, 9th November.

A 58-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence but has been released pending further investigations. The road remained closed until approximately 8.15pm to facilitate the investigation at the scene.
