The Incredible Power of the ‘Third Eye’ Kiss

It’s a unique feeling – kissing and being kissed. Anyone who shares in this intimate act usually kiss to show their affection and love for one another. It’s one of many ways to exhibit love and bring two people closer together.

An October 2013 survey published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior examining the possible functions of kissing in romantic relationships even confirmed some of these benefits.[1] Out of 308 males and 594 females between the ages of 18 to 63, participants revealed that kissing does indeed help strengthen their relationships both physically and emotionally.

But has anyone ever kissed you on the forehead? People even equate a forehead kiss to being kissed on your third eye. Let us explain.

Spirituality and consciousness, eternity, psychic waves forming a tunnel, supernatural frequency senses, meditation and healing

Exploring the Third Eye, Your Pineal Gland

The 17th century French philosopher, René Descartes, believed that the pineal gland (often referred to as the ‘third eye’) was the seat of the soul, of intuitive wisdom and clairvoyance.[2] The pineal gland is a pea-sized endocrine gland tucked in the core of the brain between its right and left hemispheres “that is the source of melatonin, a hormone derived from tryptophan that plays a central role in the regulation of circadian rhythm.”[3]

As significant as the pineal gland seems, however, people around the world have strived to better understand the function of the pineal gland, or third eye, for years. While scientists still have much research to conduct, authors such as Dr. Rick Strassman who wrote the book DMT: The Spirit Molecule (which was later turned into a movie), are confident in the pineal gland’s capabilities. In it, Dr. Strassman suggests that “the most general hypothesis is that the pineal gland produces psychedelic amounts of DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) at extraordinary times in our lives.”[4]

Potential Benefits of DMT

In a 2007 interview on the Opie & Anthony show, UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan affirmed Strassman’s DMT hypothesis and highlighted his own experience:

“It’s produced by your pineal gland… It’s the most potent psychedelic known to man. But the craziest thing about it is it’s natural. And your brain produces it every night as you sleep. The time you’re in heavy REM sleep and right before death, your brain pumps out heavy doses of dimethyltryptamine… When you’re in heavy REM sleep, you’re going through a psychedelic trip. Very few people know about this. But it’s been documented.”

Although they remain to be definitively proven, researchers suggest DMT may be able to:[5]

  • Enhance self-confidence
  • Heighten self-esteem
  • Reduce the negative effects of emotional or physical trauma
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Decrease depression and its symptoms
  • Improve body image
  • Enhance personal empowerment
  • Improve emotional health
  • Better sense of self
  • Improve ability to cope with grief and loss

If the claims above are true of the pineal gland, where does the third eye kiss fit into it all?

Healing Benefits of the Third Eye Kiss

Scientists still need to provide sufficient evidence for this,[6] but there are people who claim that a kiss will stimulate your pineal gland. It’s like kissing another person’s soul. Your third eye is situated between the eyebrows and is believed to be spiritually dormant. Upon receiving a third eye kiss, the kiss itself activates, in essence, wakes up or stimulates your third eye thus releasing melatonin and DMT, as well as heighten your insight, intuition, and connection to your higher self. So, not only will you benefit from a good night’s sleep and a deeper state of consciousness, but you will also feel a rush of love with and from the person who gave the third eye kiss.

If you want to give someone a third eye, simply kiss the area on the forehead between the eyebrows. While you’re doing this, send messages of compassion and well-bring to the person you are kissing. It has been mentioned in many ancient scriptures, but don’t just take their word for it. Next time the universe presents you with an opportunity to give a third eye kiss to a friend or family member you love and care for, offer that kiss. The more regularly you do it, the more you will see results. Try and find out!

It’s no coincidence that researchers who conducted the survey kissing learned that it actually strengthened loved ones’ bonds with each other. That may just be the surface of the incredible power of a kiss, especially a third eye kiss. Just kiss your significant other on the forehead today and every day, and see how it uplifts and enriches your life together.
