Violent Scot Sex Offender Given 13-Year Jail Term for Abusing Women

A violent sex offender, Anthony Gibson, 37, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for serious sexual offences, violence, and abusive behaviour against multiple women. The crimes committed by Gibson came to light in November 2020 when it was revealed that he had abused two women. Subsequent investigations by the police uncovered that he had subjected several other women to his abusive behaviour in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Lanarkshire, and Fife.

After being arrested and charged in connection to the offences, Gibson appeared in court on Monday, November 11, where he was handed a 13-year jail term. Detective Inspector Frank Keegan commended the bravery of the victims for coming forward and speaking out against their abuser. He expressed hope that Gibson’s incarceration would bring some comfort to the women he had harmed and prevent him from causing further harm.

Keegan also urged anyone experiencing violence or abuse to report it to the authorities, emphasising the importance of speaking out against such crimes. The sentencing of Anthony Gibson serves as a reminder of the serious consequences for those who perpetrate acts of abuse and violence against others.
