West Lothian’s first Christmas drive-in cinema night will raise cash for CHAS


West Lothian is set to host its first Christmas drive-in cinema, with proceeds going to the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). The Centre, Livingston, one of the largest shopping centres in Scotland, has unveiled its Christmas events plan to support CHAS. This marks the third year of partnership between the shopping centre and the charity, which offers hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

The highlight of the Christmas events will be the ‘Movies Under The Stars Drive-In’ on December 6 at Car Park 1. The drive-in will feature the film “Elf” at 6pm and “Love Actually” at 9pm. Tickets are priced at £20 per car, with an additional £1.50 booking fee, available for purchase on the centre’s website. All proceeds from the drive-in event will go to CHAS.

In addition to the drive-in cinema, children can take part in festive arts and crafts workshops to decorate baubles and hang them on Christmas trees near the Post Office. These workshops will run on weekends leading up to Christmas, providing a creative and engaging experience for families.

As part of the charity partnership, CHAS will have a pop-up in the shopping centre on November 30 and December 1 to raise awareness and funds. Shoppers can also make donations at CHAS contactless pods located within the centre. Tess Sundberg, Marketing Manager at The Centre, Livingston, expressed excitement about the Christmas events, emphasizing the importance of supporting CHAS and highlighting the charity’s valuable work.

Furthermore, The Centre, Livingston will offer various activities throughout December, including an ‘Advent Calendar Spin the Wheel’ with daily prizes. Shoppers will have the chance to win prizes such as a luxury hot chocolate machine, gift sets, headphones, and dining experiences. The centre’s social media channels will provide updates on these activities.
