Staff at Wishaw General Hospital have recently planted a new tree on the grounds to commemorate the successful implementation of the eTrauma system across NHS Lanarkshire. The Trauma Tree was marked by Oliver Bailey, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Jillian Duddy, Trauma Liaison Nurse, and Stephen Grant, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, in celebration of the system’s one-year anniversary.

The eTrauma system has been a significant advancement in trauma care management, according to Bailey, who described it as a game-changer that has not only improved patient care but also boosted efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The system has streamlined the management of over 8000 new referrals annually, saving approximately 50,000 pages of printed paper each year.
