Woman smokes her father’s ashes in honour of his dying wish
A woman has fulfilled her late father’s final wish by smoking his ashes in a unique tribute shared on YouTube. Rosanna Pansino, a popular content creator with over 14 million subscribers, honoured her father’s request by including the heartfelt moment in the debut episode of her new podcast series, ‘Rodiculous’.
In the emotional video, Rosanna revealed that her father had expressed his wish before his passing five years ago. She disclosed that her father had bravely battled leukaemia for six years before his eventual death. Describing her father as a “badass” and “a rebel”, Rosanna explained that he had asked her and her mother to blend his ashes with soil, grow a marijuana plant, and then smoke it.
Initially hesitant, Rosanna’s mother eventually agreed that it was time to fulfil her late husband’s wish as a way to honour his memory. The 39-year-old obtained a license to cultivate marijuana in order to carry out the unique request. Sharing a snippet of the podcast on Instagram, Rosanna wrote a touching caption dedicating the episode to her father, saying, “We lost my dad about 5 years ago to Leukemia. He was the best. His dying wish was to be grown into a cannabis plant and be smoked.”
The video garnered mixed reactions from viewers, with one commenter expressing support, saying, “This is so sweet, no judgement.” Another shared their own experience, revealing that their father, who also had leukaemia, had expressed a desire to be turned into a plant as well.
Rosanna’s decision to fulfil her father’s unconventional wish has sparked conversations about unique memorialisation practices and the ways in which individuals choose to remember and honour their loved ones who have passed away. The video serves as a poignant reminder of the diverse ways people navigate grief and find ways to cherish the memories of those they have lost.
